McCann New York released a new campaign for LinkedIn positioning the platform as a "port in the storm" for job seekers in a difficult employment market.
The agency won LinkedIn's creative account in late 2024. The new work addresses current job market conditions with messaging aimed at people actively searching for work.
McCann New York is part of the Interpublic Group network. LinkedIn named the agency creative agency of record roughly four months ago. The platform has 1 billion members globally and runs advertising campaigns targeting both job seekers and enterprise clients.
The "port in the storm" framing positions LinkedIn as a stable resource during employment uncertainty. The campaign's release coincides with layoff announcements across technology, media, and finance sectors in early 2025.
LinkedIn previously worked with various agencies on brand and product campaigns. The 2024 AOR consolidation brought creative work under McCann's remit. McCann New York also holds accounts including Microsoft, Verizon, and General Motors.
The job seeker focus represents a shift from LinkedIn's recent advertising, which emphasized professional development and networking. The new messaging addresses immediate employment needs rather than career advancement.
McCann did not disclose campaign budget, media spend, or markets where the work will run. LinkedIn has not announced whether the campaign will extend beyond U.S. markets.
