StudioLR commissioned illustrator Holly Sharpe to create four illustrations for St James Quarter, the Edinburgh shopping destination. The work ran on trams across the city.
Sharpe, whose portfolio spans editorial and commercial illustration, delivered the pieces in April 2025. StudioLR, a London-based creative agency, briefed the project for the retail and leisure complex.
The tram placement gave the illustrations consistent visibility across Edinburgh's public transport network. St James Quarter opened in 2021 as a £1 billion mixed-use development in the city center, housing retail, hospitality, and residential spaces.
StudioLR's client roster includes work across retail, hospitality, and property sectors. The agency operates from London and works with brands requiring identity, campaign, and spatial design.
Sharpe announced the work via LinkedIn in April 2025, crediting StudioLR as the commissioning agency. The four-illustration set marked a public-facing campaign for the shopping quarter, using Edinburgh's tram infrastructure as the primary medium.
The project represents localized, transit-based work independent agencies execute for property and retail clients. Work that requires understanding both the brand's positioning and the city's media landscape. Tram advertising in Edinburgh reaches commuters and tourists moving through the city's core routes, connecting the airport to the city center and beyond.
StudioLR has not disclosed campaign duration or additional media placements beyond the tram executions.
